The Princess and the Frog (In Theaters) 2009

The Princess and the Frog ( played by Anika Rose, Dream Girls) is about a young lady, named Tiana,  with a dream of becoming a restaurateur.   The dream was embedded in her by her father (played by Terrence Howard, Fighting).  Oprah Winfrey provides the voice of Tiana's mother. Tiana is a very talented cook, the only problem is that she needs more money to buy the building she has her heart set on.  Just when she thinks her dreams are shattered, she meets a frog who proposes a business deal.  Kiss me and once I'm human, I will make sure your dreams come true.  Tiana gives the frog one "little kiss" and...pow! In a surprising twist, she becomes a frog!  What then ensues is a quest to turn both frogs into humans again filled with adventure, music and life lessons.  Tiana learns how to relax and have fun, while Prince Naveen learns how to have a good work ethic and to do things for himself. They encounter quite a few characters who all provide depth and entertainment.  This film was entertaining for children as well as adults.

I have heard from others who were concerned about the "Voodoo" content.  My answer to that is that most of the Disney's Princess films all have a form, of what we call witchcraft.  There is always someone good, bad or both who cast spells.

Let me know what you thoughts...was it worth the wait?
